Default Keeper D for Keeper F

With the struggles of my intended Keeper 'D' Phaneuf, I've decided to try and find a team that possibly has 2 Keeper quality 'D'. My team and league info are in the signature below (Keep 3F,1D,1G):

I would give:
P.Datsyuk(C), L.Visnovsky(D) and my 8th round pick

I would get:
D.Keith(D), P.Bergeron(C) and his 5th round pick

He also has C.Pronger and C.Erhoff as his other potential Keeper 'D'...His Forward Keepers to select from now are J.Tavares(C), P.Kessel(RW) and D.Briere(C/RW)

What are your thoughts on this offer???

Or possibly taking C.Pronger or C.Erhoff instead of D.Keith???

Thanks!

You have enough good F keepers so you can lose Dats.
I think Keith is a huge upgrade at D.
I would do that trade.

Actually the trade was REJECTED...and unfortunately no message of why.

Datysuk is a huge upgrade to his potential 3 Forward Keepers and he'd still be able to keep either Pronger or Erhoff as his Keeper 'D'.

I was thinking of taking the picks out, but I'm sure if that was his only obstacle he would habe sent a counter-offer without the picks.

Should I maybe swap out D.Keith for C.Pronger??? even though Pronger is getting old and likely more injury prone the older he gets...

Pronger(D), Bergeron(C) and his 5th round pick
for
Datsyuk(C), L.Visnovsky(D) and my 8th round pick

OR

Just offer Datsyuk for Keith straight up???

I need some opinions, I want to get one of these Keeper 'D' before someone else beats me to the punch....Thanks

Default If you do that your crazy...

Datsuk is a 90pt player who can get you a +20 and 30+PP on a good season, maybe more. Keith at his best can get you 55-60pt with and +20-30 and 60pim and maybe 20+pp.

You have positional strength at center and room to deal but that is crazy talk. I don't care if Dats is your number 3 behind Crosby and Malkin, you don't do that deal.

Dats paired up with a decent D is worth Keith AND Pronger any day. Keith is the value, Pronger has a few years left. I would honestly try to peddle lidstrom with DATs to get Keith Pronger and one of his other top prospects like Tavares or Kessel.

DET is in a down year, and it had to happen. I called them to miss the playoffs from the beginning of the year. They have been too good for too long and their talent is getting old, and their top players have proven to be fragile at times. It had to click at sometime and they had to have an abysmal year. I am almost proven right. But their organization is just proving its depth by hanging in. Lidstrom is on a real down year, and you can capitalize on his "value" by letting the other guy think he is getting the better of you by offering him up with DATs. Yes it could back fire next year, but not for long. Pronger has probably got 4 good years left in him, Lids maybe two, if this season is an aberration. Keith is good for 10 probably, and so is whomever else you get packaged in there.

That is what I would try. Since you are bent on Keith.
