I can almost guarantee you that Zajac will get between 50 and 60 points next year. O\'Sullivan, on the other hand, will get between 45 and 75. BIG fluctuation and I don\'t know where he\'ll wind up. If you like risks, take O\'Sully. If you wanna play safe, take Zajac.

I have been thinking lately that I would be willing to trade Kemp for a pitcher that would be #3 on my team, an upgrade over Moustakas or Cozart (after I pick him up on Monday) because I will be able to play Hanley at third or short, and a OF to replace Kemp's starting spot so at least better than Swisher. Not looking for any specific players but more of what a good starting price for Kemp is. Does what I laid out seem reasonable or is that too much to ask for? I guess my reasoning is that I am pretty solid in the OF and would like to upgrade in multiple areas if I am trading Kemp. Also keep in mind I don't play with as savvy GMs that you guys are most likely used to.

Thanks for doing this. I have this as a separate post (A big, tempting offer), so feel free to reply here or there:
1-year Roto, 20 teams, 400 starters drafted, Daily, Max games=162 R,HR,RBI,SB,AVG,OPS C,1B,2B,SS,3B,IF,3OF,2Util (starting positions) C:Suzuki; 1B:Fielder; 2B:Cuddyer(1,O); SS:Aviles(2,3); 3B:Beltre; IF:Konerko OF: Victorino, Swisher(1), Pagan; Util: J.Montero, Walker BN: David Murphy, B. Abreu, Bloomqvist(SS,O) Note: pitchers are not relevant so I have excluded them. I have been proposed the following offer: I give: Fielder, Konerko I receive: Butler, Tulo I'm not sure - first thought was a big loss of power but I think it comes down to how much Butler can improve and perhaps if Konerko's numbers will drop slightly this season. Tulo would complete my infield though as I'm relying on Aviles. Is the (arguably) small offensive downgrade worth better balance? Tulo would also give me a bit of speed which helps. Thoughts? |

@twinkies
it's not too much to ask for if you go for the right guys. let's start with outfielders. i'd first target guys coming off down years, like choo or werth (or even rios if you up the ante on the pitcher you're trying to get), so you maximize your return if they bounce back. if i had no luck there then i'd turn to consistently underrated guys like victorino and chris young. now for a #3 pitcher. im pretty low on hellickson this year, so to me there's a pretty big gap in between him and price. guys in that range who i like this year: luebke, ervin santana, danks, baker and scherzer. dan hudson is my top breakout candidate for the year. if you stay on top of the waiver wire, im sure you'll be able to find one or two players @ SS or 3B who compliment hanley's flexibility. but if im looking to get that in a trade, im going to target multi-position-eligible players like daniel murphy, mark trumbo (assuming he picks up 3B eligibility sooner than later) and prado. bonifacio (3B,SS,OF) would be perfect if you think his 2011 was semi-legit. |

@horrorfan
yea this one's tough. let's go roster spot by roster spot. you replace prince with butler, you lose about 20 HR and 20-30 RBI. you replace aviles with tulo, you recoup the power and probably overcompensate for the RBI loss at 1B, and you vastly improve AVG and OBP. where the deal evens out is at the IF slot. you replace konerko with a rotation of swisher, bloomquist, walker, aviles and montero (assuming he earns C eligibility). id probably do the deal; aviles is far from guaranteed to keep his job, and once stephen drew is healthy, bloomquist is a bench player. so yea, id prefer to lockup shortstop and juggle that IF slot. |

Thanks Snyder, hope I'm not too late!
Could you rank these 3? (5x5 roto) Capuano, Harang or L.Lynn Most aces start on 5 days rest, and I assume Kershaw will not be an exception. If so, Capuano or Harang will be skipped occasionally. I believe Capuano will have better numbers than Harang, but it seems like he is viewed as the 5th, and if so, he would be the one missing time, would he not? I'd play these LA guys splits on home starts only. I also really like Lynn and he has a better schedule over the next month or so than both above, but once Carpenter returns, he could be lost to the pen. But, on the other hand he could stick if he impresses. |
