Why is it that every other GM in my league wants the same player???

Last year I ended up drafting Backstrom (WAS)...
Understandably, I don\'t want to trade him at this point...and the offers I keep getting are all insultingly low-ball! (Zidlicky for Backstrom comes to mind)

Even though I have other really good centers that I would be willing to move (Sedin, Connolly, Weiss)...they don\'t seem to want to talk to me unless Backstrom is on the table...

It is kind of irritating when you tell a GM that a player is not available and he refuses to deal with you until he is...

If they really wanted Backstrom, they\'d step up with a \"real\" offer and overpay a little to get a guy they supposedly really want.

What you need to do is offer them Backstrom for something a little over the top and keep doing it until they get the idea that you really value Backstrom more than a Zidlicky reclamation project.

Ask them for the other Sedin because you can no longer bear to keep them apart. Ask for Kopitar straight up. Paul Stastny? You get the idea. Have some fun with it and if they do take your offer, let them overpay for Backstrom and be happy.
