I just acquired Ward but I am hesitant to start him against Washington tonight. Ward does have a pretty good record against WAS (12-5-2, 2.54, .920) but is just coming back from injury and the whole Carolina squad has been bad on the road so far. Add that to the fact that Washington was shutout in their last game which likely made Ovechkin angry and you have a recipe for disaster for Ward.

Am I right or am I over-cautious?

I was just about to ask the same question before I saw your post. I'm winning SV% and GAA right now and I don't think I'm going to risk taking a hit. I think I'm going to sit him.. Washington scares me

I sat out Miller against WSH and got burnt this week, also sat out Elliot against Philly IN Philly, got burnt again...you just never know. However, I can see WSH looking for redemption after getting a rare shut down from Miller so I'd bench Ward.
