Who do you see as the better fantasy goalie in his career? Cats are Wins, Saves, GAA and Save%. Looking to try and acquire one of the two this offseason.

That's a tough one. My gut is really telling me Bernier. This could very well hinge on what team he ends up on if/when he is traded. I have always thought Bernier will "Tuuka Rask" his way to stardom as soon as he gets the opportunity.
I am also a fan of Markstrom however being in the Panthers crease he is sure to be hard up for wins and GAA forthe next few years or so. After that (as he and the team around him mature) the Panthers should be a force so he also has stud potential. If Bobby Lou makes his way to Florida then this of course gets delayed in a big way. Doubt that happens but we all know how Lou is pushing to go there. Anyways Bernier would be my guy here. Further along in his development and when he gets his own crease, he should flourish.

Agree here. I've owned Bernier at some point each of past 3 years and Finally this year I'm taking a shot at keeping him..likely with Rinne and Anderson...and instead of Bryz who I will try to unload. Bernier to NJ would be best case IMO. A usual defensive team, he should flourish considering all the unknowns about Markstrom...(poor team, Bobby Lou threat, not to mention his propensity to get hurt.

As an owner of both, it will cost you more to get Markstrom from me, but ask again after the NHL draft. I'm banking on Bernier going somewhere to get a real shot at starting. Both are on the cusp, but Markstrom has solidified himself (I just wish Florida had a better team).
To answer your question, Markstrom has the skill to be dominant. Berniers no slouch, but a lot depends on if/where he is traded. I'd go after Bernier and roll the dice that he ends up with a team like NJ, where he can thrive in a year. Probably get him cheaper then Markstrom (assuming he's traded at the draft).

Personally I like Bernier more. The only thing that scares me about him is the unknown of where he will end up playing. We know where Markstrom will play and Florida isnt the strongest team out there. Also, Markstrom has had some injury issues which makes me steer away from him more then most too.
I find it interesting to note that Markstrom is one of the highest rated prospect goalies but probably wont rank near as high as an NHL goalie when you start looking at the team he plays for. I just dont think NHL numbers will justify the high demand that most GMs want for him right now. Just my opinion but something I find interesting all the same.
