Default Some buy-low candidates...

Keeper leagues

Claude Giroux (1 g through 19 games) ( was a year or two early with my prediction of 70+ points... sometimes optimism gets the better of me!).

Keith Yandle - 8 through 20 isn't bad for a defenseman, but his upside is huge.

Bryan Little - slump year after 30 goals last season. Only 2 through 15 so far.

TJ Oshie - 6 through 14 games (points, that is). Buried a bit with STL depth and they have had an awful start, but he has a ton of skill. Will have a huge season and then you will never be able to get him.

Niskanen - only 6 helpers through 21 games. Not ready to run a PP... yet.

pacioretty - 4 points in 21 games, may get a promotion now with Gionta out. Still very raw offensively - great skater but needs to use it to his advantage more.

One-year leagues

Stephen Weiss. On pace for 40 points, Florida sucks offensively but Weiss will get 55. Remember when evaluating trades, a guy with 20 now and a guy with 10 now means little if the guy with 10 should out produce him.

Bryan McCabe. On pace for 40 as well - should hit 45 at the worst.

Todd White. Won't repeat last season, but still is only on pace for 38. ATL is stacked offensively and he should see 50 points.

Lidstrom. On pace for less than 40! He has lost a step but still has the shot and passing, especially on the PP.

Nice calls. I own Giroux and still wouldn't trade him. Tons of potential there. I got offered Horton + Benn and am thinking about that one though!

Horton is a bum - pass. I like Benn, though.

Nice post -- thoughts on Kariya? There's been talk of his demise (3rd line duties), but I can't see him being this bad.

Also, what about Spezza -- I thought last year would be rock bottom.

Spezza I avoided - Clouston is a defensive coach and the Sens won't have any big point producers. I am still holding on to Kariya - may be stubborn but I can't bring myself to dropping him.

What about Backes, buy low or stay away? Berglund?

I'd buy low on Backes, and Berglund only for keeper leagues. I'd avoid him this season.

I'm feeling the stubbornness too... Kariya, MacDonald and Boyes. Come back St. Louis!
