I have my MS Excel schedule tool that looks at teams schedule over a selected period of time and assigns a number value. It looks at the number of games, home or away and the quality of opponent. -- The higher the number the more potential for points from your players. Dobber uses this tool for his “looking ahead” section but it can do more then just look at a week. I use it when looking for injury replacements too.
As a resource up here for you guys, I though I would post up the results for the next 4 weeks to help look for a replacement of Straka or Pitkanen both of whom are estimated to miss about a month. I list all the values for NHL teams over that period (starting October 24 and ending November 20) to help you decide what teams to look for a replacements on. Rank Team Rating 1 Lightning 14.30 2 Panthers 14.20 3 Rangers 13.14 4 Hurricanes 12.89 5 Capitals 12.84 6 Stars 12.58 7 Canadiens 12.51 8 Devils 12.50 9 Wild 12.20 10 Predators 12.12 11 Sharks 12.03 12 Penguins 11.92 13 Maple Leafs 11.91 14 Flyers 11.90 15 Sabres 11.65 16 Flames 11.38 17 Blue Jackets 11.38 18 Blues 11.36 19 Bruins 11.26 20 Thrashers 11.05 21 Ducks 10.92 22 Oilers 10.88 23 Canucks 10.84 24 Red Wings 10.84 25 Blackhawks 10.66 26 Senators 10.62 27 Avalanche 10.06 28 Kings 9.52 29 Coyotes 9.45 30 Islanders 8.65 The numbers are intended to estimate how many points you would get from a point-per-game (ppg) player over that time period. You can pro-rate it for a 0.5 point-per-game player by multipling by 0.5. Or a 0.75 ppg player by multiplying by 0.75. This might not be clear so post some questions up here if you want me to explain it more.
