so i am in a deep 30 team 30 player cap league. I am suffering big time with injuries and i am close to the cap but with all the injuries i get to dump the salary into IR and it not count against my cap. With that i have freed up a good 8 mil if not more.

Vanek makes 6mil and I am still trying to win it all this yr. a minor bump with injuries (seto, malkin, luongo, souray, dvorak, steen) however some of these are short injuries and right now im 1500 points out of first. i think vanek can help me close the gap as the league favors goal scorers.

the deal is.

I get Vanek and a 3rd round entry pick in 2011
I give: c.stewart, gragnani, c. ashton

now this will most likely only be for this yr as the cap is going to be super tight by next yr but with souray out i can bring in vanek for the rest of the season.. what do you guys think good trade or am i giving up too much future (also i play for the now)?

I think it's likely an excellent deal for you. You're not guaranteed anything with those three prospects. Vanek is a WINGER. Important in this discussion. You may have to work hard later to unload some cap. Worst case scenario, is that you probably download some cap off the blueline. Not much fun playing for next year or five years down the road. You're getting a pick back, so the deal is really two average prospects for Vanek. Doesn't get much better.

Man, you already have a powerhouse team. I think you are pretty much fleecing the other GM. You know you're getting the better end of this deal, it's no use posting it lol.

Good job on you if you get it done cause I don't know what the other guy is thinking, but hey that's when you take advantage of the situation. Maybe I should contact the same GM and try to fleece him too!

hey yeah i took the risk of posting it here but i figured on deals like this people respect the posts and dont undermind the poster.. dobber respect in the forums (at least i hope so)..

but yeah he isnt a new gm and we have had dealings in the past so kinda curious on how easy that was but he is very upset with the slow starts so the deal is the way it is.

i dont know what im going to do next season my cap is going to be a mess. with luongo getting 10mil, seto getting a big raise, EJ getting a big raise. yes i will be introuble.. look for a big sale over the summer!!.
