Would you guys trade Getzlaf for Stastny and Boyle in a one-year league?
If not, what would be a good counter offer (if any). This is the other guy's team: C-Stastny, Toews, Koivu LW-Ovechkin, Nash, Kunitz RW-Kane, Boyes, Brown D-Boyle, Chara, Weber, Doughty, Liles G-Huet, Vokoun, C.Mason Standard head-to-head stats (G,A,+/-,PIM,PPP,GWG) Let me know what you think.

Toews & Boyle. You'll get to capitalize on Toews slow start and get a better player who generally stays more healthy and has better linemates than Stastny. You'll also be loving it when Hossa comes back and that team gets even stronger.
Dont know if he'll bite on it, but if he does, you'll look like a genius in about a month. |

if anything dont do a 2:1 bc then you need to drop someone and in the end you would be losing out big time then. are u proposing the trade or is he. i wouldnt move getzlaf for those guys. maybe if toews was involved in someway but i dont think you need that deal either.
looks to make it bigger and get Ovech.

Even if it was Goligoski he had to drop? You dont think Boyle is a huge upgrade over him in a 1 yr.? Or even Letang for that matter? |

I know you have Morrow, but can you afford to lose the PIMs by getting rid of Getzlaf. If you think yes, I'd try what NYR suggests and counter with Toews and Boyle for Getz.
I would, however, consider Stastny and Boyle for Getzlaf as well, as long as you can adequately replace the PIMs from somewhere else. Stastny won't be far below Getzlaf in points this year IMO, and Boyle should be a HUGE upgrade on your defense.

I personally would not make this trade. Getz is a top 5 guy in the system that you have set up. He is going to get you a lot of PIM's and he is going to score at an amazing rate. Since you are not counting SOG but are counting PPP, you really are not going to get any better then Getz.
As for trading for Toews, that would be a KILLER move......if this was a keeper. This is only his third year. He is off to a slow start and that could turn around at any moment but you would be giving up a 100 point player with 100 PIM's for a guy that has yet to break 70 and MIGHT get you 50 PIM's. Look at the numbers Getz - 25G, 80A, 110PIM, 35PPP, 5GWG for Toews - 35G, 45A, 50PIM, 25PPP, 5GWG Boyle - 15G, 40A, 50PIM, 30PPP, 3GWG Total - 50G, 95A, 100PIM, 55PPP, 8GWG Difference - 25G, 15A, 10PIM(in Getz favor), 20PPP, 3GWG And that is without dropping anyone. So is it really going to be that tough to find a guy that is going to score you 40 points and have 3 GWG? Probably not. And that is being pretty generous with Toews giving him 80 points. That is a point per game pace when only 17 guys did it last year and the only one under 22 was playing with some guy named Ovechkin. The rule of thumb is that the side that gets the best player wins the deal. Getz is by far the best player in the deal

This is really a tough one.
What do you guys see Toews finishing with this season? 70 or 80? and do you guys legitimately believe Getzlaf will reach 100 points?

Its a fair trade though in the long run you might be better off with Stastny/Boyle than Toews since its only a 1-year league. Boyle looks like he'll have a career year and could well lead all d-men in pts. I love Getz, but I get the feeling he's playing with a little rust and the Ducks as a whole seem out of synch so far
