Haha I watched LeBrun talk about this last night and everyone is pissed at Glenn Healy.

Personally, I think the whole "sized to fit" ordeal is a joke. Forwards don't have to wear form-fitting gloves, shoulder pads or shin guards...why should goalies?? As long as they are within the legal dimensions, a 5'10" goalie should have every right to wear the same size gear as a 6'3" goalie. How come Zdeno Chara gets an exception to the rule regarding stick length, but a smaller goalie isn't allowed to wear the same sized leg pads as a larger goalie??? It's just a little unfair in my mind.

I'm 5'11" and I wear 36+ leg pads...and they are visibly 1" or 2" too tall for me ... but I have longgg legs, so that's what I wear because that's my style and that's what I want.

They aren't illegal, so who gives a flying fxxk?????

I also saw this talked about last night. Healy made a good point, that there were 30ish different people measuring the goalies, which led to different guys being measured differently.

As a former short goalie (5'9") I know that "size-to-fit" would even further hinder a smaller goalie's ability to compete in the NHL. If this rule were to pass goalies under 6'1" would almost become obsolete in the NHL, IMO.
