if this is a keeper league, i would look more at the long term than short term, with deal 1 you get much younger guys which will produce similar numbers as your deal 2 guys in the coming years. sure deal 2 looks better this year, but next year and 2 years later i\'d much rather have deal 1.

tanguay is 27
gaborik is 25
hejduk is 30
smyth is 30

they\'re not THAT old...

gaborik will be great and carter/giroux....who knows....probably wont end up like tanguay/smyth. plus im a contender now and maybe this could give me the cup....

will the deal put you in a strong position to win this year. It appears so but depends on depth of league.

If it does i\'d do it, forget Malkin or Johnson or Carter go for the producers for this year. Take the championship and run.

If it doesn\'t guarantee a victory this year, take the young guns.
