Does anybody know any specifics about Havlats injury? Do they know for sure whether or not he will need surgery?
Any thoughts related to whether or not he is worth keeping for this year would be appreciated.

seems as thought the consensus of the the 5 doctors that the blackhawks have talked to is that a month of rehab should do the trick and he shouldn\'t need surgery.
as a first time havlat owner, i\'m sure hoping so cause for whatever reason people aren\'t wanting to trade for him...weird...

I have Havlat as well. He would be quite the load in a Roto league, but I dont mind keeping him in my H2H league. Having him hurt doesn\'t help me win the league, but having him healthy during FHL playoffs in March/April will be huge. Just make sure your team is good enough to pull the weight until Havlat returns.

according to the chicago tribune:
The decision as to whether or not Martin Havlat will undergo shoulder surgery will be made on Wednesday. Should Havlat need the surgery, he will be gone indefinitely and possibly for the season. Should the Blackhawks deem that rehabilitation is the viable option at this time, then Havlat could be back in the lineup by mid-November. Stay tuned. keep your fingers crossed!!

The decision was made, no surgery just rehab and maybe back in 4-6 weeks

If I own him in a keeper league, I\'m trading him for a good prospect and a high draft pick. Same shoulder - three times now in a short span. Get something for him now, or you could lose him for nothing.

Now, no one in my one-year yahoo roto league will touch Havlat now. I already have Avery on the IR. Do I sit around and wait for Havlat like I did with Gaborik all last year (he came back with a vengeance) or do I drop him secure in the knowledge that he will come back and get injured in his first game?
Someone just dropped Backstrom (WSH) and I think he is going to go off once Semin comes back. Drop Havlat for Backstrom or do I have to wait this out? Also I love how through this whole thing doctors and team reps have been saying that things aren’t so bad but Havlat consistently dooms and glooms it. Like he doesn’t want to play or something. Quote:
Doctors say Havlat has a beautiful singing voice. Havlat cautions he is not trained to be a soloist.

previous updates had him returning in about 2 weeks, savard says it could be bumped up from that. from rotoworld...
Martin Havlat could be back in the next 10 days. Havlat took part in non-contact drills with the Blackhawks on Friday and coach Denis Savard stated that Havlat could return at some point during Chicago\'s four game homestand which starts on Sunday and ends the following Sunday, Nov. 11. If he was to return, we would bet on the 11th as that will be the first home game to be televised in Chicago as the late Bill Wirtz would not allow it. It certainly would make the telecast more interesting for Blackhawk fans.
