Salary cap is $260 for the starters, which consist of 9 Forwards, 6 Defensemen and 2 goalies. The draft order will be in reverse of the previous season's standings. With the worst team nominating first in each round. Reserve Draft The reserve draft will consist of 10 rounds of straight drafting players. Each round has a predetermined dollar value, $12, $10, $8, $5, $4, $3, $2 and $1. Players from previous years that were drafted in the reserve and never played can be held in the same round as they were drafted in previous year. Each round starts with the worst team from previous year and finishes with league champ. Section 2 Schedule The regular season schedule will be randomly done by the web site. The regular season will last for 21 weeks. Games that end with a team winning by less than a full point will be considered ties. Lineups All lineups must be in before the first game starts each week. Our typical week runs from Monday through Sunday with the exception of the opening week and All-Star Week. Playoffs The playoffs consist of the two division winners getting the top seeds and a first round bye, then the next 4 best teams regardless of division getting the remaining spots. The playoffs have 3 rounds and each round lasts 2 weeks and is a total cumulative score. In cases of ties the higher seed automatically advances. If the Finals end in a tie the two teams will split the prize money equally and be declared co-champions. Tiebreaker in Standings Wins Head to Head Division Record (If tie is in same division) Points For Record Against Playoff Teams Coin flip Payouts 1st=$800 2nd=$400 3rd=$200 4th=$100 Section 3 Scoring Scoring is done by the web site and all stats from there are considered final. If there is a dispute with scoring the web site has final say. Scoring system is listed above and will not be changed unless agreed upon by the league. Section 4 Transactions We will use a waiver wire method to pick up players during the season. Any players that were picked up during the season that didn't get drafted originally will be put back into the player pool at the end of the season. If you pick up a player that had been drafted you will assume their current salary and contract status. The last day to pick up players is the final day of our regular season. There are no Add/Drops during the playoffs. Trade Deadline The trade deadline will usually be around the 3/4 mark of the season. Please check the league rules page for specific date. All teams are allowed to make trades in the off season as well. You may include Draft picks in any deal but we are not going to include salary in any deals. If someone would like to protest a trade please notify the commissioner ASAP. The commissioner will look into the matter but unless there is obvious collusion going on or you have evidence to prove collusion we will probably let the trade stand. Section 5 Contracts All players start with their either auctioned salary or their reserve draft salary and a 3 year contract. At the end of two years the owner has the right to resign the player for either one more year for an additional $5 in salary or two more years for an additional $10 in salary. At the end of the resigned contract the player is considered an unrestricted free agent and it put back into the player pool for everyone to bid on the following year. All teams are allowed to bid on all players during the auction even if that team had released that player during the off season. Player Pool We use all of the NHL. You may draft any player that has been drafted by an NHL club. Section 6 Misc. Anything not covered above that comes into question will be decided by the commissioner. If you feel that the commissioner is wrong you may appeal to the entire league and we will put the matter up for a vote with teams that are affected by the decision not able to vote.
