I tried to save Doughty by offering Bogosian + a 2nd round pick coz i really like Doughty but didnt work...

Then I tried to salvage Hodgson by giving Brandon Sutter and Eric Fehr and he went for it.

He was actually making a salary cap decision at the same time as getting "good value" for Ovie.

I would love to get his next best player though he has Getzlaf and Zetterberg.

I'm sad I had to depart with Doughty though... but then I go on youtube and watch a few highlight reel goals from Alexander the Great and I'm happy again

I don't think we ever got all the info on this deal. Generally when something is posted like this (seriously, anyways), everyone ignores the particulars to scream "GET OVIE NOW!"

I'm not exactly sure how a "Sim League" is scored, could you elaborate? You also only mentioned salary cap after the trade went through. Do you mean it's just a regular league with NHL cap and salaries or are there actual simmed games that decide who wins? I'm guessing this deal is not as lopsided as everyone thinks.

A simulated league is one where you have a full pro and farm roster and make your lines just like in the NHL. The games are then processsed threw a simulator and every player has some grades that are given to them for many aspects of the game (i.e. skating 89, checking 71, shot power 85, etc)

Their are 30 teams representing every NHL franchise and you sim out a full season with playoffs. You need to have a lot of depth as you can't have one very strong line and 3 other average.

Oh and yeah you must respect a salary cap just like in the nhl with your pro roster.
