I think he will make the team. Hard to say where he will play. I would guess in the tp 9? LOL. you never with Hitch? It would be nice to see him in the top 6

I would love to find the article where I read this about 2 months ago, but GM Howson said that Filatov is expected to be a big part of the Blue Jackets this year. Not sure of the lines because we really didnt get to see much of him last year.

Didn't mean to hit "post" yet...

He played with Peca and Voracek for a bit last year and also Modin and Murray.

I can see him getting onto the third line and making a decent mark with Peca and Modin for some reason. Look for 45-50 points because of the PP time he will get this year.

If you guys can wait I have an column coming out on Tuesday regarding the possible top 6 of the Jackets and various other teams from the Western Conference. It has a bit more detail on Filatov, but my initial response is...

Huselius - Umberger - Nash
Vermette- Brassard - Voracek

as their top six.

Good good!! I can't wait for Tuesday then! However, I'm not happy to not see Filatov in their top 6... I guess you have a good reason!

That's awesome. I just got done saying in another Filatov thread that I can see a third line of Filatov/Peca/Modin. Karma to me. Bahhahahhahhaha

Looking forward to that article. I'm expecting a similar season to Hudler's 07-08 season with 40-50 points. I'm expecting great points/minute on the third line plus some powerplay but constant hair pulling wondering what Hitchcock is thinking. Hopefully he can play well at both ends of the rink and force Hitchcock to give him more minutes. Some solid play mixed with a key injury gives him a 65-70 point upside if the stars align.

Next year, the sky is the limit. I can't wait for Brassard, Voracek, Filatov and Nash to consistently be 4 of the 5 on the top powerplay unit.
