Hey Poolies,
I\'m a memeber of a pretty serious 12-person keeper league, in it\'s reset year. I was lucky enough to have second overall pick in a snake format, with the league format as follows: - Head-to-head - 12 Forward, 7 Defence, 2 Goalies, 4 bench spots (25 total per team, total of 300 players - relatively deep league) - Skater stats: G,A,PIM,+/-,PPP,SHOTS - Goalie stats: Wins, SV% - 8 keeper players between years My team is as follows: FWD: Heatley, St. Louis, Savard, Gionta, J.Blake, Kariya, Recchi, Stillman, Radulov, Eaves, Stafford, B. Ryan, Hudler, Chris Clark. DEF: Boyle, Zubov, Poti, Rozsival, S. O\'Brien, N. Kronwall, F. Kaberle, R. Suter. GK: Emery, Khabibulin, Gerber. --------------------------------- I think I\'m looking quite good for this season. My main concern, however, is the future. Due to a rapidly aging squad, including Blake, Kariya, Recchi, Stillman, Zubov, etc, I\'m worried that I don\'t have a justifiable 8 keeper picks going into next year. Many of the \"kids\" are taken - the Toevs, the Kanes, the Muellers, the Gagners, as well as other lesser ones, such as Erik Johnson, Zajac, or Mark Staal have been taken. Hell, even Letang, who\'s not in the NHL anymore is currently eating away at one of some guy\'s bench spots. My question: Should I sacrifice a bench spot, for the future? Turis is available, as are a number of other INACTIVE hot prospects. Keep in mind that there is a 100-move cap on the season for drop/adds to prevent streaming, so that bench spot is either more, or less, valuable, depending on how you look at it. |

I\'m more worried about your goaltending situation.
Is Carey Price available?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I understand, and agree with the goalie situation. To be honest, I placed little importance on the goalies during the draft due to the heavily skewed scoring system. Emery will get me a fair share of wins, and the Bulin, while not contributing much else, will pop a couple here and there with an above average sv%. Ideally. Although, I\'m worried about the fact that he\'s pinned to start only 50 or so games. Price, while undrafted, got snagged up really quick when it was announced he made the habs. |

Is Jonathan Bernier (LA) available? Once Emery is up full and running, should swap out Gerber for him I think.

I like your team all in all and I do think you made a good call on goaltending given the bias in stats - did you draft Boyle before or after the falling skate incident? He may be in for a tough year.
I wouldn\'t be in too big a hurry to dump Gerber when Emery returns - give it a while to see what happens - I am not sold on Emery completely. In H2H I would be tempted to run with one d man less and bump up your forwards. Other than that looks like a fun team to tinker with as the season goes along.

Bernier was drafted. If he becomes available I\'ll snag him in a hearbeat, as he\'ll address both my goalie and my long-term keeper issues.
And Shoeless, I agree. I\'m actually very pleased with the draft outcome. I would never have guessed I\'d land Heatley, St. Louis, and Savard in the first 3 rounds of a 12 player draft. I drafted Boyle relatively late. I\'m hoping he\'ll bounce back from the injury decently. He\'s been a monster fantasy producer the last few years. |
