I currently have Deslauriers and am looking for a guy who could make a team this year as a backup or at least next season and possibly steal a number of starts due to good play or injury to the starter and has the potential to be a starter in a few years.

Would any of these guys be an upgrade over JDD & why? Please rank.

I think you are better off with Deslauriers than any of these guys only because EDM\'s goalie situation is unknown. The other ones I would keep my eye on would be Bachman in Dallas (deoends on what Stephan does - Bachman will likely play in the AHL tho), Backlund in PHI (it looks like they are trying to fill in the back-up role with someone other than Backlund but keep a close eye on the situation as he might be the #2). I think your 2nd option behind JDD is John Curry who will likely be back up behind MAF next season (assuming they let go of Garon)

Look no further than Jimmy Howard in Det.

Can\'t stay in the minors any longer and it looks like he will be the backup to Osgood next year. I like his chances to take over as the starter, if this year was any indication.

I like his chances and upside way over anyone listed above.
