I have been in a keeper league since 1991 that uses scoring for forwards and defense based on points for goals (5) assists (3) +/- (as is) shg (10)penalty shot made (10) penalty shot missed (-10) and goalies by wins (5) losses (-5) shutout (10) save (1) goal (-5).
My question is whether the risks I took in trading away some youth will pay off. My starting roster looks like this D Lidstrom, Vishnovsky, Pronger, Gonchar, Rozsival, Brewer C Thornton, H Sedin, Brad Richards LW D Sedin, Heatley, Nagy RW Iginla, Satan, Korolev G Brodeur, Turco. I have a little depth and since the league drafts in the form of random draw, no one has Crosby, St. Louis, Malkin, and some of the potential rookies like Backstrom or Toewes. The draft is this weekend and I have only one pick (RW). I welcome your thoughts knowing that you don\'t have the benefit of knowing what everyone else has. I have finished second two years in a row by one game and by 1/2 a game. Should I be confident? |

That does look pretty solid, liek you said without seeing any other teams. I like that you have a real solid player at each position guaranteed to rack up the points. Again, its almost impossible to comment on the chances of winning, but I do like the team.
Thats an interesting score keeping method by the way.

Thanks, it was real interesting when fighting was also included in the point totals (+5). It made Bob Probert and Stu Grimson coveted players at one time.
