I agree. He is a servicable 40-45 pt guy only under a healthy season.
I would just try to find a less risky option for a #2 d-man.

Update: I had to pare down my roster to 24, so I dropped Tambellini, Fehr, Bergenheim and Murphy and Comeau. I just completed a trade that would send Gomez, Bieksa and a 10th rounder for Osgood, a 3rd rounder and a 9th rounder in '10. This gives me three goalies I would protect (drop Theodore) and narrows down my choice of d-men to protect. I'm looking at Goli and Quincey now. With that 3rd rounder, I know I can replace Gomez easily. I love going into the draft with Osgood, Price and Varlamov. I don't need to look at goaltending at all, as surely two of those can give me numbers each week. With that in mind, I need to clear up two more spots for Quincey and Goli...or else just focus on d-men at the draft. Since Hudler is on my protected list for now...I may get one freed up for me if he goes to the KHL which I doubt.

Looks like you aren't afaid one bit of Theo splitting starts next year with Varlamov (or Varlamov getting injured and Theo gettijng the gig)
Also I thought Hudler is now actually gone, what are you putting the odds at that he is in the NHL next year? |

Yes, I think Hudler will stay and it was a negotiating ploy. Varlamov may get hurt, but then I can ride Price and Osgood. Theodore will not be one of the 12 I protect.

Another update - the draft lottery was held yesterday. This is the same lottery that screwed my team that I took over last year. The team finished last, but my lottery selection was 13th of 14 teams.
This year, my tean finished ninth, but I will select second overall. I'm dying for a defenseman, so Hedman might be the way to go.

I would keep Jokinen (instead of Hodgson), Quincey and Goligoski.
Go for it Dobbs.
