In a keeper league and in a rebuilding mode (so winning is not for this year), I have 2 different offers on the table from 2 GM for Ray Whitney. The first one is Peter Mueller and the second one is Dustin Brown and Patrick O\'Sullivan.

Since Ray Whitney\'s value is at its peak, which one do you think is the best to accept?

Hehe, I\'d take the O\'Sullivan/Brown even if you weren\'t rebuilding.

since you\'re in rebuilding mode i\'m thirding (sp?)(I just realized zorro posted) the motion towards osullivan and brown.

while I like muellar, he\'s still very much untested and an unknown. He also is on a team without a strong supporting cast.

Osullivan and brown are on such a team and have also demonstrated their skills at the NHL level.

Who in their right mind would offer O\'Sullivan and Brown for Whitney. Be very, very careful in that league - it sounds like the fatal version of dungeons and dragons.

Well, unfortunately the GM who offered D.Brown and P.O\'Sullivan reviewed his positions and now wants Ray Whitney and Cory Stillman from my line-up. Am I overpaying if I want to be competitive in 2 or 3 years from now?:blink:

Should I go back to the GM who offered Peter Mueller for Whitney only?:huh:

i still think that trade works in your favour. whitney and stillman are still solid nhlers but there\'s no doubt that they\'re both past their prime.

brown and o\'sullivan, however, especially if you\'re looking to be competitive in 2-3 years are just starting to realize their potential and probably will have in your 2-3 time frame.

i still think it\'s a great trade in your favour.

DEfinitely get O\'Sullivan and Brown, but since he has come back and increased his demands pretty significantly you should try to get him to throw someone else in.
