I was just offered Rafalski and Recchi for either of Hossa or Alfredsson.
Which I quickly rejected of course. The owner wants me to make a counter-offer. He has Cheechoo so I could counter one of Alfredsson or Hossa for Cheechoo and Rafalski. What are your thoughts.

He is motivated but it is not in your best interests to counter - you tend to give up control that way. Tell him his offer was pretty offbase in terms of value and if he can think of a deal that would be equitable then you are willing to listen. Sends the message that if the price is right they are available but doesn\'t set a boundary on value - gives him a chance to overpay.
Do you need a D guy? Because if you don\'t there isn\'t really much to talk about - Cheechoo lives off Joe - not the most attractive of keepers. Hossa and Alfredo create their own. Alfie is getting older but he is far from done yet. If it is a one year league then Alfie and Hossa are going to post some whopper numbers. Post edited by: Shoeless, at: 2007/09/25 10:45

Watch Hossa\'s production, he\'s been getting off to hot starts and trailing off at season\'s end. Might be worth trading mid-season.
He killed my team late last season. Unless you\'re desperate for D help, and guys like E. Johnson, J. Johnson, Cory Murphy aren\'t around - Rafalski isn\'t worth losing either Alfie or Hossa for IMO, even if Cheechoo is coming back. Jer

If you could get Cheechoo/Rafalski for Alfie/someone (depending on who he needed with the Ottawa forward), I would do that in a heartbeat. As Shoeless said, Cheechoo does leech off of Thornton but what a host he is! Rafalski should have a big season in Detroit as he will be playing much the same role as Schneider did when he was in Motown. Alfredsson should outproduce the SJ winger this year but not by much and unless the other owner needed some pretty darn good player to go with Alfie, I would make the deal.

My defense is made up of Thomas kaberle, Dan Boyle, Eric Johnson, Francois Beauchemin and Braydon Coburn. He is obviously hoping with Boyle\'s injury that I am desperate. I still think keeping Hossa and alfredsson is a better option.
