Points only league, looking to go with best available player. I do need D, but at this point of the draft positional requirements can wait.

Who would you take? Both in terms of regular production and upside. Basically I figure that Letang might have the best chance of making it to my next pick (only 3 picks between my 2 picks), as those watching the Super Series might be ranking Turris more highly.

Other players available after my first pick are Kane, Gagner, Cherepanov, Esposito and the rest of this year\'s class as well as some D like Russell, Franson, Kindl, Bieksa.

I know some will think Kane should be ahead of Turris or Letang, but let\'s just say I disagree and go from there.

I\'d take Letang...Turris is something special but having a powerhouse d who happens to play in Pittsburgh is huge. Plus a 55 pt d over a 80 pt foward any day in my books.

Both are close all things being equal I go with Turris, better player overall, but if you need a D man go with Letang.

Given a choice between the two, I would take Turris, just because I think he will produce and become a No. 1 centre no matter where he plays. A lot of the attraction with Letang is that he\'s Pittsburgh property. With Gonchar and Whitney on the point already and Goligoski just under contract, Pittsburgh is deep in offensive defenceman. I see your dilemma, but imagine what your opinion of Letang would be if he were to be traded to Tampa Bay in a package for Dan Boyle or to L.A. in a package for Rob Blake at the deadline. If that doesn\'t affect your opinion of Letang too much, well, then draft him.

Turris has more upside and is a safer pick, IMO, because his value does not depend on which NHL team owns his rights.

Take letang as he\'s one of the top three really young defenders out there i think.

If turris is gone by your next pick, settling for kane is not bad whatsoever (regardless of your feelings about him).
