Default Malkin, Kovalchuk..etc... Big trade offer?

Please tell me who you think wins this trade... I \'m in a fantasy point per point keeper league... We protect 8 players at then end of year.
You can dress any type player ( They can be all forwards if you wish).

Kovalchuk, Gagne and Hemsky for Malkin, E. Staal and Vishnoski

The trade is not done yet...

To me

Malkin > Kovalchuk
Staal > Gagne
Visnovsky < Hemsky

So the package with Malkin is better IMO.

Some will argue about Staal being better than Gagne but I think Staal will rebound. When you reach the 100 points mark in the NHL it isn\'t luck. St-Louis is a very good example.

I agree, I like the Malkin side especially since I think Staal can return to his 90+ point form this year.

Malkin for sure. He\'s the best player in the trade. On top of that, I\'d put Staal over Gagne, and Visnovsky as a stud D-man is more valuable than Hemsky. Hemsky has very high upside, but will only reach it if he ever gets some linemates who can put the puck in the net.

Interesting trade. Much closer then first thought when I looked at it.

Malkin - This year 100ish, upside 140-150
Staal - This year 90ish, upside 110
Visnovsky - This year 60ish, upside 70

Total: This year 250ish, upside 330 or so

Kovalchuk - This year 90, upside 125-130
Gagne - This year 85, upside 95-100
Hemsky - This year 75, upside 100

Total: This year 250 ish, upside 330 or so.

So really on paper it\'s very even.

Hemsky is in a situation where he needs someone else to play with to achieve his upside ever and Malkin has Sidney Crosby on his team. In my mind those thing tip the trade onto the side of Malkin but only slightly.

The team who gets Malkin clearly wins the trade, but duolos Malkin hitting 140 - 150 this year, come on. Sid had 120 his 2nd year which was good, and hes much better than malkin. If Malkin has a great year he might hit 110, never 140-150. look for 95-100 from him this year.

My upside list was for a player\'s career which is important since this is a keeper league. Sorry I didn\'t make that clear. I gave the ballpark numbers for each player for this year and then their upsides for their careers (top ends). I think both numbers are important when trying to determine who wins a trade.

I think I did a pretty decent job in the numbers for what the players might do and it\'s not that lopsided a trade from what I can tell.
