very nice. you should tell everyone how your league scores, just so we can give a more accurate interpretation.

jason spezza in the 2nd round is a total TOTAL steal. he was drafted 7th ovrall in my league. gaborik was also a steal, drafted in the 4th is unbelievable (drafted early 2nd in my league). but lehtonen is your starting goalie? lehtonen went much later in our league and is in a backup role. that would be a major criticism. also, after a really, really impressive first line (kovie, gaborik, spezza) and a good second line (marleau, afinogenov, doan)you drop off steeply. even doan is a pretty crappy 2nd line player. but im not sure what your league\'s starting rules are (2 LW\'s, 2 RW\'s, 2 C,etc.....)


your defense seems solid. EJ wont post great numbers this year, but its not even a question if hell get 50 point seasons in the future (probably more). chara and blake are both good, blake for the short term....chara for the long term.

overall, i like your team and think you had a very nice draft. good luck this year.

You seem to like bandaid boys. Spezz, Gabbie and Afino. If they avoid the bandaid you are sitting pretty sweet - kinda surprised Spezza and Gabbie lasted until when they did. Sullivan was nice pull at 200.

Goal tending is decent but not stellar in a 12 teamer.

All in all I think it was a decent job drafting for a mixture of experience and prospects - time will tell. I am sure in a few days after you analyze your team and the league you will find things you want to tinker with.

Thanx for the criticism guys this really helps. I have to explain the Lehtonen thing. I was 9 out of 12 teams and it was a snake draft. So I took Kovalchuk and on the way back was amazed to see spezza- I figured I had to take it. In retrospect I had 18 picks before I could draft a goalie. I watched all the vets go that round. The only alternatives I had were Cam Ward, Vokoun, and Emery. It will be hard to trade up and the top 3 prospects are gone, but there are a few sleepers left. Both Tb goalies, Mike Smith and I think Harding. Anyways just thought I\'d explain that and thanks again for the comments.

Oh yeah Im not sure about this hate on for Affy but I have him in another league and I like him...

Same thing happened to me on my draft - took Hossa in the first round, on the way back was planning to get a goaltender but was amazed to see Kovalchuk just sitting there - had to take him, and of course immediately afterwards a landslide of goaltenders were taken leaving my best option to be Budaj. Yeah, Budaj was the best goaltender left in round 3. I waitied and still managed to get him in round 5.

Overall, good draft. I also took Teemu albeit a bit earlier than you, and really hope that he comes back, it would be an absolute steal if he comes back.

Overall draft seems fairly good, I just dont like your goalie tandom. I understand their potential is great and all but I\'m sure you could of went with a more proven starter. A Giguere or Kipper would of been much better, and im guessing your league allows trade so I suggest you trade for a true elite #1 goalie since thats what will make you win your pool. try and get one without trading your top 2 picks and you\'ll have a very solid team to contend with.
