pavel datsyuk is clearly the best in that list. id also seriously consider alex tanguay (85 points last year)....he should reach 90 this year with a full season next to jarome. pavel is a guarenteed 90 points. marleau and cammelerri are the other 2 players id consider. marleau might end up on the 2nd line which seriously hurts his point total, but cam will be playing top line and top minutes. whats your scoring system? i think that info will help with this decision.

Well really it is all dependant on what you need. Not knowing that and/or if positions matter, here is how I would rate them:

p stasny - There is something about him. I like this kid.
datsyuk - Good for at least 80 points.
cammalleri - LA is on the up and up.
marleau - Good for 70 - 80 Points on a high power team.
tanguay - Good for 70 - 80 Points
nylander - Playing with Ovie or Semin - Older but 80 is not out of reach
huselius - Questions about Keenan? Will get 50 - 80
vy kozlov - He is playing with Hossa or Kovalchuk...will get ~70
langkow - Played well last year. Will produce about 70
andy mcdonald - No more Selanne. Production will drop this year.
sundin - It\'s a keeper league.
ray whitney - Whitney has never really impressed me. 60 - 70 points
brunette - See production drop...in a big way. ~60
selanne - He will relax at home for a few months, then decide he wants to play again. December maybe?

That\'s just my opinion though.

I think that Datsyuk, Tanguay, Stastny, Cammalleri, and Marleau will all help you now and for the future. I think Nylander is going to put up a lot of points this year, but with the emergence of Backstrom and his age may not be putting up a ton of points in years to come. Kozlov is also in the boat of helping this year, but not for the future. Huselius scares me because of his past problems with Keenan, so till that\'s sorted out I\'d stay away. Selanne is still up in the air, but if he has signed by the time of your draft I\'d rate him pretty high. I think McDonald depends on Selanne and the rest will just contribute, but not post great numbers.

I would agree with most of the what the other posts say:

I rank them as follows:

Datsyuk
Cammaleri
Tanguay
Marleau
Stastny

This is based on purely point potential. If you league rewards other stats such as PIM and +/- I might reconsider somewhat, but would likely still go with this top 5 list.

cammalleri
statsny
datsyuk
marleau
tanguay
andy mcdonald
nylander
brunette
langkow
huselius
ray whitney
sundin
vy kozlov
selanne

That would be my list... I\'d go with Camalleri or Stastny for their potential but if you want to be safe with the pick i\'d say Datsyuk is a very solid choice
