Yesterday\'s edition of Montreal\'s La Presse newspaper explains that one of the reasons why Daniel Briere chose to sign with the Flyer\'s is that he made an arrangement with Paul Holmgren in which he could have the leisure of choosing his linemates and play on Line 1 throughout his stay there. La Presse says that 2 reliable sources confirm this information and add that Habs GM Bob Gainey refused to agree to such demands.

Pretty interesting news, but I find it stupid to give a guy like briere or any guy the privledge to pick his line-mates. If he wanted to do that then he should have become a coach, and the dumb flyers actually agreeing to it makes them even worse.

But anyways, chosing Gagne and Knuble is sort of the obvious choice and is what the flyers coaches would of proposed in the first place. Knuble gets lucky again..Thornton/Samsonov..Forsberg/Gagne...Briere/Gagne...whats next Crosby/Malkin.
