Default Connolly vs. Sundin

It looks like I might be able to grab either as depth for my center. Nobody in my league knows about connolly apparently (we have 2 rounds left and he hasn\'t been taken) and I think everyone\'s scared of Sundin\'s age.

I feel like I\'m taking a risk here though. Sundin is a great talent, he gets first-line minutes, and should be good for 75+ points. Connolly has a lot of talent as well, but his injury problems worry me.

I don\'t need any more keepers -- the guys I\'d be drafting would be for one more year. I\'ve been blessed with guys like Ovechkin, Vanek, Radulov, Miller, Harding, and Whitney so I should be a contender this year and for awhile. Our league counts everything you could think of except PIM\'s (including SOG/hits/blocked shots/etc)

So the real question is, what are the odds that Sundin really starts declining this year vs. the odds that Connolly doesn\'t produce or gets injured again?

I\'m leaning towards Sundin, because I feel like he\'s not THAT old and will still put up a decent number of points. With Blake and maybe a healthy Tucker he could do well. If not, he only produces 50 points, and I can probably trade him to an unsuspecting GM. Connolly on the other hand, if he\'s injured, he could be useless all season.

Your opinions?

If you have no concern about keeper i\'d say sundin for sure. Connoly is the new poster boy for band-aid brand hockey players now that it looks like eric wont play anymore. He will most likely never play a full year.

The Comish said it best - \"without hesitation\" - you won\'t regret that decision.

I think you answered your own question. Sundin\'s good for probably 75 points - he\'s not going to go all the way down hill in one season. Speaking of this upcoming season in isolation, Connolly MAY be good for more than that...IF healthy. If your keepers are fine, take Sundin. If you don\'t want him at the end of the year, he\'s still got enough value to pick up some sort of compensation in a deadline trade.

If this were a one year id grab Sundin, but its a keeper so I\'ll say Conolly, I may be one of the very few but I truely belive Connolly can bounce back, and with only Roy challenging him, a top 2 spot in Buffalo is his and I can he can perform. We all know he has the skill and I believe 75 pts is in his future.

I took Sundin. I was lucky enough to grab Mats Sundin and Slava Kozlov in the 16th + 17th rounds tonight...talk about falling through the draft!

I stuck with Sundin because I wouldn\'t be keeping him or Connolly. If Sundin starts to decline, I might be able to trade him. If Connolly gets wrecked...nobody\'s going to want him.
