Anybody knows why Garon is 3rd goalie? Roloson played back to back games even if he lost the 1st one...insane...

Garon has the worst stats of the three goalies..he should be sitting on the bench.

Garon - 3-4-0 3.68GAA .881 spct

Roloson - 3-3-2 2.71GAA .920 spct

Jeff DD - 3-1-0 2.44GAA .927 spct

While it was surprising that Roloson started in b2b games, he did everything MacT could ask for in that loss on Monday, stopping 37 of 41 shots from DETROIT of all teams.

Looks like Rollie has earned a little more playing time.

The question is whether that playing time is for endorsing him as the starter or showcasing him for a trade.

The problem with showing stats is that with such a small sample size doesn\'t often shake down very well in the end. What if Turco, Luongo or Kipper was benched after 7 games this year? I totally agree...but is so frustrating to draft him, thinking you had a great steal ($1M in a cap-based league) just to see him sidelined after 3-4 games...he proved last year that he was able to carry the team all season...anyways, hope he will pick up, since I lost another piece now (Morrow)

I kinda think Garon will be it this season for the Oilers once they quit dicking around - I have contemplated buying him on the cheap in a couple of my leagues actually. Might work, might not but intuition helps me more than not.

That must have been rough for him Thursday night. I wonder how he found out that he was going against DETROIT of all teams for his first start in like 10 games? I think MacTavish pulled him into his office before the game to let him know he was going to start? The conversation probably went something like this:

MacT: \&quot;Hey Matty, come in and have a seat.\&quot;

Matty G: \&quot;What\'s up, eh?\&quot;

Im sorry if anyone was offended by this. I didnt mean for it to be. I thought it would just be chuckle-worthy.

I think they have mishandled him completely. If they used the same attitude across the board, Gagner and Cogliano would be in the press box too. They should know what Roloson is already and not get enamored with DD at the expense of Garon.

My feeling is that they are trying to: 1) showcase Roloson and hope some desperate team (Devils) over pays for him, 2) see if Drouin-D is a decent backup but secretly hope he is a franchise golatender and 3) challenge Garon to play better.

The end result will be:

1) They move Roloson for something stupid because Mac-T will think he is a genius for getting anything from Big Lou in NJ.

2) DD will look great for a bit but then falter like all young goalies do, with the added pressure of knowing they treated Garon like crap when he struggled.

3) Ruin Garon in Edmonton, he leaves the first chance he gets and goes on to become a solid young goalie for years on another team.

PIT and BOS are the only decent teams in the EAST.

Im hoping that game on Thursday actually might have got him a few starts. Rolly started the game but let in 3 goals on like 10 shots. Garon comes in and stops 24 or 25 i think. He just happened to get tagged with the loss because he let in the game winner.

Im starting him over Conklin this week based on this. If Garon doesn\'t get any playing time this week MacT is getting some hate mail.

Yes, Garon\'s playing time is getting completely mis-handled in Edmonton.

Unfortunately it seems like MacTavish is the type of coach that rewards effort and not necessarily skill. Roloson is not the best goalie on Edmonton by any means, but he always works very hard and gives a good effort, which makes it hard to take him out.

Hopefully Garon gets a set of games to fix the kinks and get on a roll.

If I had the choice my tandem would be Garon and Deslauriers in a heartbeat...but I\'m not taking salary or contracts into account whatsoever, just speaking on talent and capability.
