Default Goalie Situation

Hello,

I\'m in Keeper League where I can have as many as 3 goalies dressed... but I could technically have more on my bench (players that can\'t play unless there\'s an injury). The bench though is quite limited at 2 per year.

Of these 5 goalies who should I protect?

Evgeni Nabokov
Vesa Toskala
Pascal Leclaire
Jaroslav Halak
Frederik Norrena

Thanks

i\'d say nabokov is a definite, and other than that I\'d avoid having a columbus goalie lol... so that\'d be toskala and halak (even though halak will be supplanted by price within 2 years).

Nabokov is the top choice for me as well.

Then I\'d go with Toskala. I think the Leafs improved somewhat during the offseason thanks to Toskala\'s aquisition and they are a much better team than Columbus.

Halak deserves some consideration but I don\'t see him stealing Huet\'s job.

Ya I would agree with Nabokov and Toskala for sure

Halak, Norrena and Leclaire are all three huge question marks... Halak could probably win a lot of games but that won\'t happen if Huet is still there. And even though Columbus may not be a solid team either Norrena or Leclaire by themselves could maybe win 30-40 wins... but most likely their time will be split.

must you keep three?

do you have the option of keeping nab and toskala, and dumping the rest - picking up someone else from a pool of un-owned players?

or trading

because it looks to me like each of your other three options will hurt more than help

Norrena is the starter right now in CBus, and will see the majority of the games this season barring a meltdown. I agree with others, Nabokov is the clear number one here and Toskala is the clear number two. After that, I don\'t see anything worth holding on to.

You\'re right about the fact that i don\'t have to take 3...

but I don\'t want to give up a potential starter and then try to scrape up a third goalie in the draft and end up with an Aebisher as a third goalie...

Thanks for all the advice guys! I\'ll let you know what I eventually decide on.

Keeping only two is definitely a good option. How else is available?
