I\'m in a keeper league and the defence are counting as 1 point per goal and assist each. I am going to have either Shea Weber or Patrick Kane available when it gets to my pick (3rd overall), maybe Paul Statsny whom I doubt to be available. What would be your order of selection of the three and why?
Thank you!B) |

Hello Saku:
If I understand correctly, you want to know if you should go with Weber or Kane (because Stastny isn\'t available). What do you need on your team? What is your league? What is your scoring? I don\'t mean to be disrespectful but you can\'t expect an accurate opinion based on the information that you have provided. Again, no disrespect. More information is needed. I like Weber as a defenceman. I like Kane as a forward. I like Stastny more than them all, if he was available. I am not being sarcastic. That is the best that I can do with the information provided. My thoughts. |

Hi hockeylifer,
I realized I was vague. My league is a keeper league without salary cap. I have needs at every position equally (D, FW and in the net). Thank you for your opinion, that was good enough. I think I am going to prioritize Defenceman first because there are only so many prime offence defence available even though Kane is a one of a kind player (?). By the way, the scoring is very simple, 1 point per and assist each for Defenceman and forwards, 2 points for goalie\'s win and 5 if by shutout and 1 point with OT loss. Thank you! |

I take Weber over Kane because I think you never have enough good D in your pool !

My opinion is that if you have equal needs everywhere you go with BPA. Since he\'s still young, that\'s probably Stastny.
If Stastny is gone, I\'d take Kane. He\'s a #1 overall pick. He\'ll be good, and I think long-term you would regret taking Weber over him, as good as Weber is. |

So if I understand what you want to say lanky, you\'re taking P.Marleau over S.Gonchar or J. Sakic over N. Lidstrom ?
Sorry, but I don\'t !

35 pts for Weber ???
Are you kidding me ??? 40 pts last year in his forst full year ! He has been on the 2nd PP almost half year and on the second pairing too ! This year, he is ALL ALONE on the first pair and the first PP ! That mean a sure 45 pts with 55 pts as upside.

Weber will definitely get more points than last season. Kane may have a higher upside down the road, but Weber has already shown what he can do, and he will be one of the more valuable fantasy defensemen going forward (goals, points, +/-, PIM).
