As a Spezza owner I wouldnt trade Spezza for Havlat (injury prone and stupid) and Hemsky (under-achiever - because of lack of skilled teammates) on their own never mind giving up a 2nd round pick as well. Spezza\'s a band-aid boy as well but he\'s vastly superior to either of the players you\'re offering and he\'s still young - meaning he hasnt reached his prime.

Happy Fishing

Not out to lunch because that would be a nice deal for you - but as Big DL suggests maybe out to lunch because it looks to be asking too much of the other guy. Try it for sure - maybe it\'s your lucky day.

never hurts to try, funny thing is if havlat were to stay \"healthy\" the recipeint of him would benefit most , but general concensus says thats\' not likely.

smoothfun, I\'d agree with you but Havlat doesnt like playing more than 60 games. If he doesnt get injured he\'ll kick someone and get suspended for 20 games cause it\'s his third offense. Havlat has lots of skills but nothing upstairs.

Hi Wildog,

Just checked on teh team in question...he is at his limit for protected players(17), so i dont think he would go for it based on that alone (not discounting what otehrs have said already, which i agree with). He is also a knowledgeable GM and i have dealt with him in the past.

As a Spezza owner in another pool, i wouldn\'t go for that, especially coming into draft season and especially with Havlat. The +/- fromHemsky are probably gonna be...well..not good

If you want a better chance of getting him, throw EJ and Frolov. EJ qualifies of P-bench status, so he could tuck him there(has an empty spot atm) and Frolov would replaze Spezza on his regular roster hell you might even be able to get the pick from him that way as a throw in.

If you are determined to trade Havlat, then make sure you attach futures(conditions) to the offer (Gp, points - whatever), that way the otehr GM won\'t get the impression that you are ripping him off, dumpping damaged goods etc and actually care about making it more of a fair trade for him.

Good luck

Gutsandglory, I think I am safe to assume that you, and wilddog are in the same pool.
What I am also hoping I am safe to assume is that when you contacted the team in question (the team w/ Spezza), and found out that he is at the maximum when it comes to the amount of players he has protected, you made no mention of this trade that wilddog is pondering. That would be a very low blow. I think it is fairly odd that you would inquire about these things anyway and maybe give the owner of Spezza a heads up to even thinking about these things.
Maybe I am way off base here, I wonder what Wilddog thinks about this?

He just checked in that he went to their website, looked at the guys roster and saw how many keepers he had that were at least as good as the players suggested in this thread.

I would never deliberately sabotage anyone\'s trade, offers etc.

I looked through the team, did some quick math and thats how i reached my conclusion. If he can make the trade work, then all the more power to him.
