The game is a lot more back and forth than it was in the 1st period.

MMM....up bright and early for my hockey fix.

Should be interesting to see how Russia comes back in game 2. No way we can keep getting away with so many penalties next time out. Should give Brandon Sutter a cape if he keeps up like this...in my opinion he should have been the MVP of game 1.

Must say though it is a bit strange to see hockey in August. Am really looking forward to going to game 8 once these guys really are clicking and some intensity builds between the teams.

I was really surprised to see Russia collapse after the 2 goal lead - the fire went out.

Canada wins 4-2 even after being shorthanded something like 14 times during the game? I hope this is not a sign of things to come or we\'re going to see an 8-0 series win for Canada.

Would love to see more 5-5 action so that some of the other guys can get more playig time. Varlamov wasn\'t anything special this game, hopefully he\'ll step it up as well. As much as I want to see Team Canada win, I\'m not very interested in seeing 7 more games like this one. But with Sutter behind the bench it could very well be 3 more games in Russia and then the series is called there once the Russians decide they don\'t want to make the trip over to Canada.

I\'ll skip the 4 games in russia but will try and catch \'em when they are out west.

I\'ll watch tommorrow -wed-my day off

Turris looks alot like Toews out there

Gagner was fantastic, as was the checking line (especially Colton Gilles). Gilles doesn\'t have offensive upside at the NHL level.. but he should become a dominant checking center.
