Default How bad is this offer?

Brad Richards and Alex Tanguay for one of Lecavalier or St. Louis.

I made this offer to some one and got laughed at.

His 8 other Keepers are:
Naslund, Ray Whitney, Ryan Smyth, Gionta, Sullivan, Huet, Khabibulin and Roloson.

We count G, A, +/-, PIM, PPG, PPA, SHP, GWG in a roto pool. For goalies we count W, GAA, SHO, Saves, and we start 2 to a maximum of 82 games per goalie spot.

A. Would you have done it if you were him?
B. Is it a preposterous offer?

I definitely wouldn\'t give up Lecavalier but I would have thought about trading St. Louis for both Richards and Tanguay. The trade is definitely not preposterous. In fact, now that I think about it I would take Richards and Tanguay for St. Louis.

Big_DL

Does this guy know you well? I have been watching your posts carefully and you would certainly have me being very careful when I considered your trade offers. Let\'s put it this way - you aren\'t asleep.

In part, I can see where this guy is coming from - laughable no - but taking 2 80 point guys for one worthy of about 110 isn\'t such a great deal.
That vacant roster spot has intrinsic value and as always concentrating points in one player is always good.

Vinny never but like Monkey I might be persuaded to move St Louis - had I been the other guy I might have countered with St Louis and Naslund for the two on offer to see what you would do.

I\'d take Naslund as well. I have 12 keeper spots and they\'re all full, Richards would be included but Tanguay doesnt make the cut, and I would see St. Louis as an upgrade on Richards. I might be able to move Naslund in the week before our keeper lists are due but it wouldnt bother me as much to leave Naslund unprotected as it would Tanguay.

Shoeless, forgot to thank you for the kind words. Thanks.

Yeah the upgrade would be nice - sounds like you are sitting pretty anyway. Tanguay is awfully good to be cutting loose though.

Hello Big_dl \'et al\'

I would have done the deal, for either, but would prefer to give up St. Louis rather than Lecavalier. My drop would have been Sullivan, rather than Naslund.

My thoughts.

This is a very fair proposal and in no way should laughed at or looked at like an insult. It may not be something he wants to do, but he shouldnt be pissed at the offer. Damn, I should start posting some of the offers I receive in my league. I have considered asking the commissioner to be copied on all trade proposals to cut back on the ridiculous offers which after a while do cause bad blood and emails not to be returned.

I would have done the deal for sure for St.louis...maybe even Vinny..because Marty has outpointed Vinny over the last 3 yrs...but also, Tangs and Richards are each very close to Vinny/Marty\'s totals over a 3 year period...so even though he would be giving up a roster spot, he would still be doubling his point totals...and I would have dropped Sully...good offer...he missed the boat!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I make a few bad offers, my first offer\'s occasionally a little low but I thought this one was pretty fair. You can imagine my surprise when the response wasnt just no but laughter. This just confirms for me that he overvalues both of them. Anyways hopefully with Sullivan being out into December he\'ll re-consider although he does have Zidlicky and Vyborny who he\'s not protecting.

Naslund is terrible, washed up and aside from Lecavilier his roster full of older vets and health issues.

You are offering two younger F with 85-95 pt ability.

Whitney could drop off @ anytime and St. Louis had a big yr, but what if he disappears again?? Gionta has leg isssues, Sullivan will start the yr on the DL, Roloson might not even make it through a full season as the starter.

Also as much as I love Ryan Smyth cracking 70pts is not something he does on a regular basis although that might change in COL, but he seems to get a minor injury and lose momentem every yr.

IMO you are offering 160-180 pts and although it doesn\'t make sense for him to part with Lecavilier, it doesn\'t make sense for YOU to package these guys for anyone else on his crappy roster.

(I mean cmon, Huet, Khabby, Rolo.... LMAO)
