If you dont rank Michalek first theirs a big problem. Look at the stats and then the facts.
Michalek has already proven himself, adding 3 years will just make him that much better. He\'s also playing on a line with Cheechoo and the best assist man in the entire league. He also gets first unit powerplay time. O\'Sullivan although very talented cant compare to Michalek in my opinion, he\'ll never see first line minutes on either regular or powerplay time as long as Frolov is in LA unless he changes his position to right wing. my order would be... MICHALEK O\'SULLIVAN ZAJAC(love his talent but cant compare to michalek or o\'sullivan) BRULE(as long as hes in columbus, his fantasy value is minimal)

since you brought up numbers
Michalek 35 points in 81 games - rookie year O\'Sullivan 19 points in 44 games (over 81 games thats 35 points) - rookie year O\'Sullivan 93 points in his rookie season in the AHL and scored at a point a game pace in his second year. Michalek numbers not better then O\'Sullivan if anything they are fairly even, plus there is no guarantee that Michalek plays on the 1st line, Clowe or Pavelski could play there too. Over their careers I think O\'sullivan will out score Michalek |

Clowe or Pavelski, you gotta be kiddin\' me. Who are these guys compared to Michalek. 66 pts in 78 games, 27 powerplay points, including 9 game winners in just his second season in the NHL. He wasnt a 6th overall draft pick for no reason, kid is a stud and playing with Thornton or lets say worse comes to worse plays with Marleau just makes his fantasy value that much better.
Not saying O\'Sullivan sucks or has a bad supporting cast, but Kopitar or Cammalieri will never become what Thornton is so Michalek\'s value is just overall better then O\'Sullivan\'s.

1. Michalek - he has already proven himself...he is already on the number one line...he is already on the number one power play unit...
In three years he will just be that much better. Very hard choice between these next two: 2. Brule - he really improved his play near the end of the season...he seems to going into training camp more determined and with a better mindset...and in three years time he will bulk up more and be able to better play his game and Columbus can\'t stay that bad. 3. O\'Sullivan - the kid can score but seems to be down on the depth chart...Would I trade Brule straight up for O\'Sullivan? I would say not yet... 4. Zajac - No knock...I just think the other three have more potential...and I also think that New Jersey will be on a downturn in three years. Post edited by: BrianSTC, at: 2007/08/27 06:01
