Geez Angus you like this guy huh? I always take a shot on one player that someone else is passionate about each year - guess maybe I might try your boy Bieksa, if I can grab him in the right round - I do have a big Nucks fan in my pool and I would be surprised to see Bieksa last into a round that I think he should be taken in.

42 points last year, was pretty consistent all season. He will always have the PIM\'s because of his aggressive play. Bieksa for now is also the go-to defenseman on the rush and on the PP.

I don\'t expect him to hit 50 points THIS season, but he should see an increase from 42 last season.

edit: as for taking a shot on a player, last year I heavily hyped the Sedins\' on my hfboards.com preview, and it really helped out a lot of fantasy GM\'s.

since you watch Vancouver a lot...Salo, Bieksa or Ohlund will get the points next season?

I find that they are equal in terms of goals and assists. But, I don\'t follow too much the Canucks. Who gets the ice time, the powerplay icetime?

Salo is the ideal Q.B. For the powerplay and has the most offensive upside but has a hard time staying healthy.Ohlund in my mind is declining and Bieksa showed last year he can produce when given the chance, his pim\'s kick ass so i would take him in a league that counts that...he could see a slight dip in pts. however as he benifitted with more minutes due to Salo and Ohlund missing time, longterm he is the choice, shortterm if he stays healthy Salo has a shot to score 20.

If everyone is healthy, I think Bieksa and Salo will man the point on the first PP and will both get their points. However, Salo will get hurt at some point, and Bieksa adds the PIM dimension, so to me Bieksa is the clear choice. Ohlund would be third... over the course of the season he and Salo will be close, due to Salo\'s injuries, but if Salo were to somehow stay healthy all year, he would outscore Ohlund. But either way, I like Bieksa better.

I\'ll echo the sentiments above. Bieksa and Salo will be the first unit, with Ohlund and Krajicek on the second. Miller and Mitchell will be the PK specialists.

I expect both Salo and Bieksa to clear 40 points. If Salo can stay healthy, he will most likely outproduce Bieksa. But the odds of that happening aren\'t very good, as he usually misses 10 games each season.

I expect Ohlund to be better this year.. he had a nasty injury down the stretch and in the playoffs (9\" tear of his abdominal wall). He is a safe bet for 30-35 points.

Great insight angus. Your comments have boosted my confidence after I acquired Bieksa. My league counts PIM so either way, Bieksa should be value. +1 karma for you:side:
