We have a salary cap,roto league ...Statsny is .10 for this year, then 1.10 for the 3 more after that. Elias is $2.00 for the next 2 years, Miller is $1.10 for the next two years.
Premium free agent players go for $2-$3, while tenders can go as high as $5.
I really like Statsny\'s upside, but it\'s hard not to pull the trigger to get Miller...
What do you guys think?

Who are your current goaltenders and who do you have filling in for Stastny and Elias if they go?

I have DiPietro ($1.50..last year before FA) and LeClaire(currently .25, I can sign him for 2 more years for .75 or 3 more for 1.25...not sure what to do there with the Norrena situation...that\'s another post though!!)

Our league has contracts, a cap and a decent FA pool each year. We draft 18 forwards, 4 goalies, 12 d and have 2 utility spots (So, 34 spots total. We have $33 to spend on auction day) There are 12 weighted catagories. G, A, P, +/-, shots on goal, PIM\'s, pp + sh, blocked shots and hits. The goalies have wins, saves and so\'s.
You can protect as many players as you want, but players traded during the season are FA the next year. Also, guys who\'s contracts are up and FA the following year.

So, as you can see, I have a lot of good, young talent, but I am lacking flexibility on auction day beacause my roster is too full. The FA pool is pretty deep this year and I will have lots of money to spend.
I also have the 1st overall pick. I am trying to trade down to pick Chepapanov (I likely spelled that wrong...sorry) because once a guy hits 10 games you have to keep him on the active roster. So, I will take Kane if I cannot move the pick. I think he\'ll make the team, but kill me this year...

Frist off I love the way your pool works that pretty wicked.

Secondly I would pull the trigger Miller is an elite goalie and someone I would not want to let go of. Yes he going to get a deal with Statsny at .10 this year but he will also way over paid for elias at 2.00.
With this move you save 1.00 in cap space this year and 2.00 next year. I would go for it cause your over paiding for Elias and thought Statsny had a sick rookie season, Miller has been solid the past two years and will always be highly value and people will always want him therefore you can always recover from the trade and ditch Miller for an equal value foward if need be.

Yes, you can\'t go into the season with bandaid boys DiPietro and LeClaire - you have to land Miller and use the cap space you free up from Elias to add another forward that way. i say do the deal.
