Was chatting about this with a client the other day and had a couple interesting minutes talking so i thought i\'d bring it up here.

Remeber this is an all time list but i\'d like to try to keep it too those you\'ve actually seen on tv or live. Word of mouth doesnt count here.

5. this was the hard one. I was torn between palmateer and tretiak. I went with palmateer. the little guy was quick.

Obviously Wayne could fit into more than one of these categories (in my opinion) so I left him out entirely. We all know that he\'s the best ever, so I didn\'t feel the need to put him here.

Fastest Skater - The Russian Rocket - Bure!

Best Passer - Adam Oates

Best Shooter - Not sure if you meant hardest or accurate or whatever but Al Iafrate sure had a bullet

Best Body Checker - Have to agree with Stevens on this one, dirty or not.

Quickest Glove Hand - Not sure, I don\'t have enough of an eye for this sort of thing to judge.

Fastest Skater - Paul Coffey. He never seemed to break a sweat skating, but would blow by the other teams defence all too often.

Best Passer - Sorry, gotta go with the cliché...Wayne Gretzky. His vision is unmatched in NHL history. Quite often when watching an Oilers game on TV, you\'d see him make a pass that seemed way off and then about 2 seconds later a team mate would burst in and take his pass (the guy was coming off the bench!)

Best Shooter - Lots to choose from here. Certainly Al MacInnis gets the scariest shot. Brett Hull warrants some consideration. For me, I never saw Mario Lemieux miss, especially on breakaways. He could roof his wrist shot like no other player I\'ve ever seen.

Best Body Checker - Definitely Scott Stevens has filled many a highlight reel with his knockout blows. Bryan Marchment would always be entertaining with his knee wrecking hip(low blow?) checks. Stevens is my choice, but pound for pound, I remember Mike Peca laying out much larger players with his hits.

Quickest Glove Hand - I remember Grant Fuhr having a lightning quick glove hand.

When I said \"(it\'s all he did)\" i was saying it as a response/reason for not picking gretzky or messier for that category because I consider them to be very well rounded players (not really \"passers\" or \"shooters\" per say). So even though messier was as good a passer as francis, I picked francis because messier was known for scoring goals too...

Sounds kind of funky, but I can definitely see how you could have read it as you did...
