Hi,

Myself, I have done some reasearch about goalie prospect lately. This is what I can say;
I would really like to tell you a lot but I found out so little info about some of them through my research. Neverthless, this is what I came up with;

Of your list, there are 3 who I think, stand out the most; Pekka Rinne seems to be the most NHL ready of all of them. Mason will be #1 this year in NSH, but Rinne will probably see some action. Let\'s not forget that Mason is already 31 yo, so at the first struggle, Rinne could take over. It also seems that Finland has developed a lot of good goalie prospect lately with Rinne, Helenius, Ramo and Rask.

My second best would be Jhonas Enroth who is another young and very under the radar good prospect goalie to my opinion. He could be another one to be very close to the NHL since after Ryan Miller, the Sabres don\'t really seem to have much else. Beside I don\'t anticipate Ryan Miller to be the kind of goalie who could uplift his team like other goalies did in Buffalo before like Hasek, while Enroth seems to be that kind of goalie. From what I read. He may be an undersized goalie but apparently has good reflexes and is quick with the glove.

Ondrej Pavelec could be another great surprise for many reason; the Quebec Hockey Junior League where he played, have the reputation to be one of the best goalie mine in the world. He also had the best GAA for 2 consecutive seasons in QHJML which has not been done there in 20 years. He apparently did not make the roster with Atlanta last year because of lack of conditioning but he will be ready this year.

As far as Helenius, Ramo, Varlamov and Irving, their respective NHL team don\'t seem to be in a hurry to have them jump to the NHL any time soon. Helenius and Ramo have been in the shadow of Tukka Rask in Finland and there is little proof from what those 2 can do in my opinion. However, TB scouters feel they have a good one in Helenius.

Irving, is one that I like. He apparently has a quick glove, moves well but will have to wait. Mostly since he is behind Kiprusoff in CGY. They say that Irving is a no-style goalie.

Varlamov is apparently overrated but the WAS scouts believe that he was worth being 1st round pick. I cannot say anything about Pogge, as I did not find anything about him.

If I may, I would also like to suggest you other goalie you did not mention in your list; Jordan Parise NJ (Zach Parise\'s brother) whom NJ scouts believe they have an adequate replacement for Martin Brodeur in him; Tukka Rask with Boston who is apparently labeled as the best goalie not to play in the NHL yet; Jaroslav Halak with Montreal who came out of nowhere at the end of the season last year to help the HABS make the playoff. By himself, he lifted the team up to the last game of the season. Montreal did not make the playoff because he did not goal the last game. Furthermore, he does not leave many rebounds.

In summary;

1- Rinne, NSH
2- Enroth, BUF
3- Pavelec, ATL
4- Irving, CGY
5- Helenius, TB
6- Varlamov, TB
7- Ramo, TB

It would not be fair to rank Pogge because I don\'t know enough about him.
I hope this helps.

ramo,rinne,pogge.after last year both denis and holmquist flopped for the most part so maybe ramo will get a shot.with nash. again you have the opportunity for some playing time.now that toskala is in t.o. pogge is more of a long shot , especially with raycroft as the backup,yet if he were to be traded maybe pogge would be called up for his shot earlier.might want to check out price and rask , they would be my #1 and #2 choices if available.oopps add bernier and put him to the front of the bus!
