I\'m of the opinion that vetos should be used sparingly -- only when collusion is obvious. This doesn\'t seem to fit the bill. So I\'d say there is no veto necessary.

On what grounds are you suggesting this trade is veto-able?

By posting the player pts from 06/07, you seem to be saying that the Malkin/Havlat side is being stacked.

If you\'re using real NHL salaries, I would probably favour the side *getting* Malkin/Havlat since there\'s a huge salary dump - Datsyuk/St.Louis = 12.7M vs Malkin/Havlat = 6.9M. It actually looks like the Datsyuk/St.Louis owner is trying to save cap room, selling high on St. Louis and buying low on Havlat.

Without any evidence of collusion, I don\'t think this trade should be blocked.

I agree, this trade seems more like a salary dump then anything. Also it seems pretty even (although that depends on Havlat\'s Health). Personally I wouldn\'t veto this

I don\'t think this trade can be classified as \"veto-able\"..

St.Louis and Datsyuk for Malkin and Havlat is a very good deal I would think. I would rather be on the Malkin/Havlat side just because of the chance to get Malkin. St.Louis will be long gone and Havlat and Malkin will still be putting up huge numbers..

Thanks for the reminder. The League uses actually NHL salaries for that year & not Salary cap hits. That means in our League guys like Kimmo Timonen eat $8,0000,000 of this year\'s salary cap but only $3,000,000 in 2012-13. The Datsyuk/St.Louis owner was over the cap & did need to lose salary to get under the cap which is the same as the NHL.

Thanks for the input

unless there is proof that the owners are friends and one is obviously giving away studs for duds trades should not be vetoed.as far as this trade , in one word MALKIN , who ever ends up with him wins hands down.

still thinks its a fine deal, not that id make it myself but for veto possibilities, no chance. even in a salary dump situation the guy with malkin isn\'t thinking properly. i\'d prolly dump the rest of my team first and i can\'t stand the guy(srry but as a flyer fan it\'s my duty to hate all penguins especially after last year lol).
