trade for whitney?
The offer on the table is this:
I get Whitney and Svatos, 4 rnd pick He gets Pitkanen, O\'Sullivan, first overall this year. The pick if I were to use it would be Statsny. I also have the 2nd overall. I like this for you especially if you can convince him not to take Statsny.
O\'Sullivan may surpass Svatos in the long run but I don\'t think he will do better this year. However Whitney will kill Pitkanen and ever other defenseman in the league.

I am with the majority here - I would simply not give him the first pick but the 2nd (which in essence is the same as him not taking Stastny if you look at it)
