How high do you take him in a single season pool? He\'s injuy riddled it seems, but when playing is one of the best.

Hello dcarr:
are PIM\'s one of the categories? I think Iggy will slip to the start of the 2nd round in pools now. In a 10 team league I think you would look at:Crosby,Ovechkin,Thornton,Heatley,Spezza,Malkin, Luongo,Broduer,Hossa,Lecavalier,Briere, and maybe even Jokinen and Savard before you take Iginla..

So in my calculations Iginla should be drafted around the 14th pick..

You are sooo right when you say he is one of the best when he is playing but remember he does play in Calgary and they seem to keep the offense a little tight. They never seem to open it up and let iggy, tanguay, and huselius skate..

Personally: I wouldn\'t take Iginla until all these guys I have mentioned above are all off the board. I would even look at Jagr, St.Louis, Alfreddson, and maybe even Kovalchuk before Iginla..

dcarr, I hope this helps you out. Good luck..
Have a great day..
Zorro..

I think Zorro pretty much nailed this one. I think about 12th to 14th among skaters is about right. He could produce a bonus season but there are other guys who will fight him for position - nothing is static.

Sakic, Cheech, Gagne might all be in the hunt in a 1 year league as well.

I don\'t know if I would say he is injury riddled, as he has only missed a total of 20 games over the last 5 years. That is pretty decent especially for a player who hits and fights. However, I think the other guys are right about where to pick him at, as there are a way more fantasy options right now...so I agree that he should go 2nd round unless Pms are a factor...but even then, Calgary is trying to keep him from fighting anymore, so I don\'t think Pms will even factor in as much.

Another vote for \"around 15th-20th pick\". There\'s definitely better player then him in the 1st round and maybe even 2nd round (depending on the size of your pool.)
