Am need of some input from you guys to perhaps clear my head on this. In our upcoming keeper draft (the first summer draft for us) I have the 1st, 2nd and 6th picks in a 6 team league. I have no picks in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, but will have the 1st pick in each round after that. I have pretty much decided on Stastny then Letang (my \"d\" to put it mildly is a weak spot). The players available are all of this years draftees along with dropped and unselected players from the inaugural draft.

I figure that depending on who goes the 3,4 and 5 I could get one of the following with the 6th.

Any of the entry draft players
Russel
Kindl
Franson
Loui Ericksson
Dustin Brown
James Sheppard
Tomas Plekanec
Claude Giroux
Bieksa

This is a points only league and I won\'t be competitive for the next 2 or 4 years (unless all the stars aline).

My question is would it be better to go with someone like Russel or Franson or maybe Brown, or do you think they might last, and I should instead pick up one of the top picks from this year as a max of three of them will be gone before my 6th overall.

Any thoughts are appreciated just to have someone elses ideas rattling around my head.

D is such a problem for you... then you must go with Bieksa. I would even consider taking him before Letang as Bieksa will provide you with immediate help. I realize that the Pens have nearly double the offensive capabilities of the Canucks, but Bieksa is #1 pp, Letang won\'t see #1 until Gonchar is gone... and that will be a few years.

It is a point only league so PIMs won\'t help. I am a bit surprised to see so many Bieksa votes. I mean I\'m aiming a couple of years + down the road. Do you think he would be worth it over guys like Kane, Esposito, Cherepanov, or Turris. I am not dismissing the thought of Bieksa, just can\'t help but wonder if the upside of these other players outweighs him.
