How does a guy (wimpy darts) get -4 Karmas with only 10 posts? I\'ve read some of his posts - Lisin, Lupul question & Malkin for Nash but I haven\'t seen a reason for Karma smack that bad on a new guy. Am I missing something? Looks like the guy came for advice. Give him that instead of \"-\" karmas. Is he getting \"-\" for asking what appears to be simple questions? Would it be better for him just to sit, not ask questions & bask in all the rest of our worldly knowledge because we found this site before he did?

I thought Karmas were for good advice and/or a good post. If you make an ass of yourself then you get the minus. A guy should never be that far in the hole.

Dobber could you please clear up that poor slob\'s slate? I hate seeing a grown man cry.

All joke aside, I\'d hate to see this forum degenerate into guys holding back saying anything outside the mainstream for fear of negative karmas. The karmas have become an anonymous way of smacking a guy without putting your name to it. Put your argument/post out their & debate/defend your point of view. I\'ll be the first to admit I\'ve had some of my views changed based on the discussion on this forum. I\'ve gave \"-\" karmas but also owned up to it.

Forgive the rant but stuff like this urks me to no end. I like the site. I\'d prefer all those guys in my pools not find it. But I find that sometimes it almost seems like an elitist \"I know better than you\" attitude creeps in. I don\'t know if it is from the \"old guard\" & vets(those that remember the old site & the early ones here)towards guys that are just finding it recently but it feels that way sometimes. I figure we are here to use the site to ask questions, (hopefully) confirm our ideas, get advice, gain experience & use as sounding board for ideas.

Personally I don\'t a rat\'s ass about my karma. It was cool at the start to see what other guys thought about my advice but now I hardly look at it. I just don\'t like new guys getting spanked. Nothing like bullying the new guy to scare away business for Dobber.

I haven\'t given out any negative Karma yet and I\'m surprised that a newbie has been dinged so bad. You shouldn\'t be giving out negative boosts just because you disagree with a guys opinion or he makes a valid point that makes other people question one of your posts. Give someone negative Karma if they\'re a complete ******* and show no respect, otherwise, it shouldn\'t be used.

One of the positives about these forums so so far is the fact that I\'ve seen a LOT of different opinions and thoughts on things but I\'ve yet to see any real \"flame wars\". There\'s been some heated debate in some cases but so far it\'s all been pretty civilized. There are far to many hockey forums out there that are a complete joke and completely unreadable because there full of ******** or 12 year olds who resort to name calling or insults just because you disagree with them. I\'m glad that this site and it\'s readers show a little respect.
