I am in a 400 players or so, salary cap, keeper hockey pool and according to Dobbers prospects rankings here are the best prospects available:
44 - Igor Makarov 53 - Trevor Lewis 55 - Jan Mursak 62 - Perttu Lindgren 64 - Artem Anisimov 72 - Igor Mirnov 79 - Nikolai Kulemin 80 - Harrsion Reed 85 - Daniel Ryder 86 - Petri Kontiola 88 - Scott Parse 89 - Vladimir Zharkov 98 - Cory Emmerton 99 - Viatcheslav Trukhno Goalies available worth noting: - Jeff Frazee - Justin Peters - J-P Levasseur - Dmitri Patzold - Jhonas Enroth & All goalies from 2007 draft Dobber rates some players higher due to \'readiness\' but which players have the best career potential? I already have lots of goalies at low salaries in my pool...Ward, Budaj, Mason, Schwarz, Schneider, Pavelec, but if needed, i\'ll draft another. Post edited by: Bear076, at: 2007/07/27 22:42

I am a big Daniel Ryder fan. Decent Bloodlines. Maybe the best offensive upside in the entire Calgary system so they move him up faster.
I also like Jhonas Enroth G Buffalo. Miller is the man right now but Enroth seems to have the right stuff. Never hurts to stash a stud Goalie. You never know when a spot will open up in Buffalo or someplace else for him to shine. My pick for you would be to swing for the fences and get Ryder. Post edited by: tiantonio, at: 2007/07/28 00:47

Frazee could be the heir to Martin Brodeur in a few years and Nik Kulemin is only 21 yet scored 29 Gs in the Russian SL.

I would agree...I think Kulemin could end up being a STUD.
Mursak is interesting. Ryder is as well....although any prospect in the Calgary system will take a Loooong time to developm and then his points will be limited and offensive creativity stifled. |

Nikolai Kulemin at #79 is laughable.
He is one year away, and if he wasnt honoring his current russian contract, he would be in a Leafs uniform this season. Kulemin is above and beyond the best selection here. Take him and run. Thank me later. |
