12 team yahoo default scorin (g/ast/+/-pp/pims/gwg) dynasty league---
i have a real desire (maybe irrational in nature) to move henrik and ive been shoppin him around my league all offseason and havent gotten so much as a nibble... however, i suppose the recent events in edmonton has made hemsky availble- im obviously aware that hemsky doesnt have the greatest of linemates and since its a dynasty league im more then willin to take a hit this year (and maybe next) as i firmly believe hemsky has a lot more upside then henrik- if i made this trade before last season it would be looked at as an absolute steal and despite whats happened since i still kind of feel that way- i also realize that they r very much similar players... as one of my buddies in the league who knows of my desire to deal sedin aptly put it...they r pretty much the same player but only hemsky is not named sedin- also the distinction b/w rw and center also carries some weight in the league - henrik is my 3rd center, maybe 4th dependin how ud rank them (i have p bergeron/p datsyuk and a kopitar) and it will be much easier to pick up a center in our FA/prospect draft then a rw - anyway, i know opinions of hemsky r fallin fast on this site...but opinions r appreciated

You should be higher on Sedin. The twins \"arrived\" last year but still have plenty more upside. They are also just so consistent and dependable... If you wait a year I think Henrik\'s value will grow again as they continue to improve... Hemsky has insane skills but also comes with question marks.

I like this deal for you, especially if you are willing to take a hit this year....just wondering if you can get a pick thrown in..playing on the fact that Sedin will have a better year. They are the same player, but I think that Hemsky will definitely score more goals....I think if you can win this year, keep Sedin..if not...do the deal

Let\'s break down last year\'s stats according to your categories:
goals -- Henrik 10 Hemsky 13 assists -- Henrik 71 Hemsky 40 +/- -- Henrik +19 Hemsky -7 ppp -- Henrik 35 Hemsky 25 pims -- Henrik 66 Hemsky 40 gwg -- Henrik 2 Hemsky 1 age -- Henrik 26 Hemsky 23 position -- Henrik C Hemsky W To be fair, Hemsky played only 64 games last season while Henrik played a full season. If Hemsky played the whole season, the ppp, pims, and gwg might be closer to even. With his supporting cast, it\'s hard to imagine that Hemsky will get even close to Sedin numbers in the forseeable future, while there\'s no reason to think that Henrik won\'t keep chugging along at his ppg pace. Looking at raw skill/potential, these guys are pretty much equal. If Hemsky was scoring 81 points at age 26 we\'d all say he\'s meeting his upside potential. Thus IMO it seems like you should get more in return than just Hemsky. ps. out of curiosity, what\'s with Sedin that you find so undesirable? |

Dobber 300 has them about equal.
Vancouver is strapped by cash. I still think Edmonton is going to get Hemsky a center. In that case I go with the youth and position in a keeper league...Hemsky.

I am an Oilers fan but you would have to go with Sedin, hes a proven reliable player who has improved every season. As much as I love Hemsly without someone to help him out he is pooched.

It sounds like you are pretty loaded at center, maybe taking Hemsky is a good idea. Especially if you have that irrational urge to get rid of Henrik.
The other suggestion would be to try to trade for Daniel, and then keep both twins. But I don\'t know if that\'s a viable option in your situation. |
