Hi everyone,

New to the site. Looks really good. Curious about Satan\'s value. Dobber has him ranked #80. I really don\'t understand how he is this high. Please help.

he\'s a solid player, just not sexy. the last two years together he\'s averaged 31g, 63 points. that plus the fact he contributes to the power play and takes a good amount of shots make him a decent fantasy pick. i guess his consistency is a positive thing.

what i expect gave him a huge boost was that with a couple of the Islanders leaving, he\'ll get more ice time and probably approach 35 goals, 70 points which is pretty nice.

I am not sure that anybody is left to pass him the puck.. I really am sketchy about Satan having a good year. I think he will get his 55-65 points and that will be all. I would be very surprised if he got any more then that..

RangerFan, I am unaware of how many players you can have on your roster but I would devote your attention elsewhere and get a player that will help you more in the long-run rather than a player that might get points..Good luck RangerFan.

Great assessment CronoX! This guy is a lock for 65 points, in fact, he\'s averaged 65 points over the last eight seasons! Combine that with the fact he\'s missed only six games over those eight seasons, he\'ll get you your 65-70 points. The Isles aren\'t totally devoid of talent on the power play, with Comrie and Guerin. Satan will give us another season of 65-70 points.

Thanks Zorro. I could not agree more. Islanders lost so much talent and all they got was Comrie! Doesn\'t exactly instill fear in you if he is your #1 center. I just can\'t see Satan getting more than 65 points, bad +/- as he has posted the last several years, and few PPP (besides Bergeron and Comrie there is not much talent on the PP).

I am glad I don\'t have him on my team. I was arguing with a friend of mine about Satan\'s value in a trade.

On a different note, I was hoping to get advice on my team now. :-) I am in a very competitive 16-team Dynasty league. I inherited this team:

C Anze Kopitar
C Jordan Staal
C Ryan Getzlaf
LW Phil Kessel
LW Wojtek Wolski
LW Mark Bell
RW Petr Prucha
RW Alexander Radulov
RW Alexei Kovalev
D Shea Weber
D Marc-Edouard Vlasic
D Luc Bourdon
D Christian Backman
D Mike Green
D Eric Brewer
BN Matt Cullen
BN Joe Pavelski
BN Matt Lashoff
BN Bobby Ryan
BN Michael Grabner
BN Peter Mueller

G Curtis Sanford
G Dominik Hasek
Al Montoya
Pascal Leclaire

As you guys can see, this is a very young team. I have the first pick in an upcoming draft which not only going to include players from the just completed NHL entry draft but also ones that were not made available by Yahoo during the past season. Some of these extra players are very good: NBackstrom, JToews, EJohnson, TRask, CGiroux, CPrice, DBrassard, TJOshie, BLittle. I am also close to getting a 4th overall pick and already have the 12th overall. Who should I target with my 3 picks? Thanks. I really appreciate your help.

I have predicted Satan to get 66 points, which is 75th in scoring this year. I have his upside at 75 points, which is pretty accurate I feel. Plus, at 32, he is still in his prime. Being 80th does seem a little high...but that\'s how the numbers come out. His consistency is pretty valuable in pools - you know what you\'re getting.

I am not sure if Comrie is a number one center, but he finally gets a shot to show his stuff. The NYI power play should produce some points for Satan with Comrie, Guerin and Bergeron at the point. 60-65 is pretty safe besed on his consistency (like Vyborny).

Is this a sneak peak at the highly anticipated release of the 07-08 Dobber Pool Guide? Only two more weeks to wait.

RangerFan, very young team.. I like your picks in the draft. I would draft either E.Johnson or Toews with your first. I would probably take Toews.

I would then with your 4th pick overall, take C.Price or one of the guys I have mentioned above if they are still available.

Your Roster: I would try and rid myself of Prucha, Mark Bell, M.Cullen, E.Brewer, Sanford, and if you can draft a better goalie that will add more depth then Leclaire does I would do that aswell..

Just my thoughts anyway.

Of those available picks listed, Backstrom, Toews and Johnson are all solid at #1, and like Zorro said, one of those or Price at #4.

This doesn\'t look like a team that will be competetive next season, however I\'d look at replacing a couple players for a couple seasons down the line. Immediately, I\'d say ditch Sanford - he\'ll be backing up Luongo, which means 10 games maximum. Also, I might see how Bell clicks in Toronto and possibly move him if he gets hot early in the season.

Id definitely take Toews or Backstrom. Young defensemen are risky to take since you don\'t know how long it would take for them to be good fantasy players (phaneuf was a rare exception. think bouwmeester or pronger who took a few years until they could put up great stats) and they have less of an impact than a good forward. Plus, Toes & Backstrom are on teams where they\'ll get plenty of playing time.

Price is good at #4 since you can never have enough good goaltending. Rask is good, but Price will probably be in the NHL first. With the later pick, I\'d nab Brassard if he\'s left or even Little.
