Hi team,

The owner of ott and doughty just asked what I will give him for both of them. I offered him Voracek, Parenteau and Giardi. His response was "no, I want a blue chip back. You have lots of them. I'm not taking shit load of guys I won't keep"

So what should I do? Pass all together? Offer Ovi or JT in a 2 for 1 deal?

I'm a little confused here. I can't see why you want to even consider this deal. Neither Ott nor Doughty are keepers for you. If your in the hunt this year, I would suspect neither Ott nor Doughty will put you over the top?? What's up with your goaltending? You only have Ward listed and he's been on IR and will continue to remain on IR for quite some time. Bottom line here, unless I'm missing something, this deal makes absolutely no sense. If you think Doughty is worth giving up Yak, then OK. I wouldn't go there, not even close. Unless I miss my guess, the other owner is trying to sell high on Doughty based on his numbers from the distant past!! Doughty is struggling, and the reality is he has much to prove before he can once again be considered "blue chip". Ott was never blue chip and never will be. A nice complimentary piece, but that's what the drafts for. Hope this helps.

Ovechkin or Tavares for Ott and Doughty is a huge downgrade for you. You'd only be able to keep one of them, unless you dropped another keeper which makes very little sense. Ott has very almost no value in a league that doesn't count hits or FOW. He's just a PIM guy that will net you 45-50 points, and the kind of player that you draft to add depth. He's definitely not a keeper. Doughty's value has been reduced to pretty much zilch, which makes it a good time to buy low on him. Moving Yakupov isn't buying low though, and he doesn't make the grade as a keeper anyways. Stay far away from this deal.

Parenteau/Girardi/maybe a midpick for Doughty/ott seems more even to me. there is no way they are worth a blue chip player at this point. this guy is trying to fleece you by selling doughty uber high.
