Default Silfverberg, Grigorenko, Gallagher

I was looking for some opinions on where you'd rank these guys in a dynasty league keeper. Short term, long term, potential, etc.

I have the guide and I know what it says but I was wondering if someone like Gallagher who is proving fantasy worth right now is worth a roster spot over Grigorenko or Silfverberg who might be better long term.

Gallagher has great tenacity and roto stats but is he a Marchand/Fleury-lite or just a flash in the pan? His AHL and WHL stats aren't bad at all.

I don't know whether to be sold on Grigorenko or not. There seems to be a lot of question marks there and it seems like his development could be very slow but projected upside is huge.

Silfverberg has been shooting a lot and I know Swedish players that come over need some time to adapt but will he break out or just stay a 2-way winger? Those SEL and AHL stats are pretty impressive. Will his offensive stats one day outweigh his lack of PIM?

G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, BLK

Rank em!

Grigorenko
Silfverberg
Gallagher

Thanks!

I don't have an answer for you but am interested in the question too.

I am careful to judge too much based on this weird shortened season. I would say on Gallager that I worry that the team as a whole is hot and his production is linked to that. The opposite is true in Buffalo where Grigorenko is just another disappointing player.

i'll stay away from ranking Silf or Gallagher because of my biases but I would have Grigs 3rd for sure.

I'm interested in your input EV. Why would you rank Grigorenko 3rd?

I like Gallagher A LOT. However, with your cats: PIMs, BLKs, etc., I'd rank 'em:

Grigorenko

Silfverberg
Gallagher

I like Gallagher A LOT. However, with your cats: PIMs, BLKs, etc., I'd rank 'em:

Grigorenko - Biggest upside. Big man, too.

Silfverberg - Goal scorer who should be a key cog on an offensively explosive team.
Gallagher - Spark plug with ridiculous junior pedigree, but he has already felt the rigors of the NHL game. Staying healthy will be a challenge.

The more I watch Gallagher play the more I love this little fellow's game. He can skate, has awesome hockey sense and loves to get dirty. Very reminiscent of a young Brian Gionta. Right now, he is at the top of this list for me. Silfverberg has a filthy release and could end up an awesome scorer as well. Grigorenko? Ah, I'm not buying the hype. Could be wrong but I think he has BUST / underachiever written all over him.

It's interesting that you point out that PIM's and Blocks are cats in the league and then separate Grigs from the rest. His game is very soft and clean therefore he never takes penalties and almost never blocks let alone hitting anyone. In a points only league I could be convinced to rank him higher but here I'd go:

Gallagher
Silf
Grigs

For me the top two are still a toss up at this point. Grigs might come back to make me regret this but I'm betting against it
