Is Datsyuk to high a price to pay to get Chara? I need a top D, and that is what I am presented with.

12-team league, pretty shallow, but not much left at D. My team:

C: Giroux
C: Getzlaf
F: Perry
F: Kovalchuk
F: Datsyuk
F: Vanek
D: Phaneuf
D: Edler
D: Beauchemin
G: Fleury
Bench: C. Anderson (G)
Bench: Gagner (C,F)
Bench: C. Stewart (F)

Datsyuk has a little extra value because of his C-eligibility, with this league strangely having that as a necessary position.

I am leaning towards doing this; I think the the rest of my Forwards (and tweaks from the wire along the way) can cover what Datsyuk gives me, but I don't think I can get anyone like Chara otherwise.

Thoughts?

Chara IMO is the most valuable dman in hockey, but from a fantasy perspective, he's only slightly above average. I'd keep Datsyuk for sure
