Default Need help selecting my keepers and my franchise player

Hey guys, I have to select 3 one-year keepers from last year's squad and 1 franchise player (keep for 3 years). All other players are put back in a pool and are draft eligible.

Stats are Yahoo standard cats

I've narrowed my potential keepers to the following players (and listed what I was thinking of selecting):
- Miguel Cabrera (Franchise)
- Josh Hamilton (1 year)
- Bryce Harper (1 year)
- Matt Holliday
- Jason Heyward
- R.A. Dickey (1 year)
- Rafael Soriano

Do you think I should switch Harper as my 3 year franchise instead of Cabrera? Do you think Soriano is worth a keeper spot instead of Dickey? Is Hamilton a better choice than Heyward or Holliday?

Any insight is most appreciated!

I think your selections are correct, although if there is enough pitching available in your draft I would be tempted to keep Heyward or Holliday rather than Dickey.

what happens after franchising a player for 3 years?

Definitely no to Soriano.
I usually favour hitters over pitching for keepers so I'd switch Holliday with Dickey.

Leaning Harper for the franchise tag depending on what your rules are, with the 1 year tags on Miggy, Holliday, Hamilton.

Either way you're in a great spot.

Miggy has to be your franchise guy. No question about that.

I wouldn't hold on to Soriano either. He'll be great in Washington for sure, but closers always come out of somewhere.

So Miggy + 3 is the idea here?

Harper, Heyward, Hamilton for me.
